This book is about science, technology, history and other things. It contains a lot of serious scientific hypothetical questions and many funny pictures of stick-figures. It is worth reading as it the answers to questions that you may never have asked yourself. The questions are quite weird, from “What if a Richter 15 earthquake hit New York City?” to “What if I took a swim in a spent nuclear fuel pool?”.

My favourite chapter is about "what if a baseball is pitched at 99% of the speed of light". The chapter is hilarious, paired with entertaining pictures and cartoons. The result of it is the plasma is fused in front of the ball and may detonate the whole city like a hydrogen bomb and annihilate the whole baseball stadium. All things nearby will be vapourized immediately due to the tremendously high temperature. This makes it the wackiest and the most enjoyable chapter in the book.

Besides, favourite paragraph is “They say there are no stupid questions. That’s obviously wrong, I think my questions, for example, are pretty stupid, but it turns out that trying to thoroughly answer a stupid question can take you to some pretty interesting place, and I’ve learned a lot of stuff along the way.”

This paragraph is very meaningful as it changes my perspective of seeing the world. It makes me wonder why I haven’t asked any silly questions for years. Everything is possible. As human beings, we need to explore, ask questions and form hypotheses. That’s what humans used to do. However, our education system makes our brains trap in a box of impossibility, but after reading this book, I have begun to think out of the box. This book makes me think everything is possible and I gained access to the world of possibility.

I highly recommend students who love science to read this book. When reading this book, you can feel a sense of humor. I also think it gives me a lot of joy when I’m bored. Although it seemed boring at first, later, I found out that it’s awesome and the concepts are also easy to understand.
