I have booked this book before it is open to public, and this book didn't let me down.This book is the second edition, so there are many changes to the previous edition and I am going to point out some changes that really hit the nail on the head.
If you have seen the first edition, it is obviously that the book have added in "Checkpoints" that highlight the keypoint in each chapter, but beside that, it can really challenge you and make you to think a step further, for example: After you have learnt the functions of water, the Checkpoint 11 will tell you to discuss the properties of it which makes it essential yo living organisms and instruct you to illustrate your ans. with suitable examples and explanation, this makes you think deeper and it just like the questions that appear in the test or exam. That helps a lot!
Second, there are some "Exam Strategies" that helps students to tackle challenging question in public exam, this new feature provided us ways to understand the question and where the keypoints is. No need to say, this is convenient.
Beside the above changes, this book is just like the other books in the serie, with well-designed HKDSE oriented exercises and solution guide and marking scheme that clearly indicate marks allocation in public exams. It would be a great choice to borrow and read this book if you are interested in Biology.
